In a statement released on Friday by the Pakistan Embassy in Washington, it was stated that Rizwan Saeed Sheikh, Pakistan’s new ambassador to the United States, was warmly welcomed and given a copy of his credentials.
Almost a week after he officially took on his new diplomatic duties in Washington, Rizwan reportedly attended the customary ceremony at the US Department of State.
Prominent US diplomats were present for the ceremony, including Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary Elizabeth Horst and Assistant Secretary of State Donald Lu for the Bureau of South and Central Asian Affairs.
The newly appointed Pakistani envoy to the US promised to strengthen bilateral relations between Pakistan and the US during his speech to ceremony guests.
