Users are still complaining about iPhone alarms that either don’t sound or don’t go off on time, over a year after Apple admitted to the problem.
A screenshot of an iPhone alarm that was set for 10:30 AM but went off at 12:42 PM—the time shown on an Apple Watch—was recently shared on social media. The thread soon grew full with grievances from other users who were having comparable issues.
Alarms that go off several hours late:
According to a social media user, their morning alarm went 40 minutes without sounding, even though it was still showing as active. Another reported that their alarm went off at 5 PM rather than 7 AM.
Users of iOS 17 and iOS 18, even those who have activated Apple Intelligence capabilities, seem to be affected by the problem.
