Along with Trent Alexander-Arnold and Mohamed Salah, the Netherlands center-back is one of three well-known players whose contracts expire in June.
Van Dijk, 33, has already stated that he is eager to prolong his stay at Liverpool, and negotiations between the two parties have been going on for a while.
He did admit, though, that there is still some doubt about his future following Liverpool’s Champions League loss to Paris St-Germain on penalties.
“At this time, I still don’t know. Sincerely,” Van Dijk remarked.
“At this time, I have no idea what will occur in the upcoming year. Anyone who claims to know is being dishonest with you.
“Everyone knows there are some conversations behind the scenes but that is about it.”
