Critics contend that he should not have accepted money from a man convicted of environmental crimes. Mr. Gething stated that the donation was within the regulations.
It was the first opportunity for Senedd members to interrogate the first minister since Hannah Blythyn was dismissed from the cabinet last week for allegedly leaking messages to the media.
Ms Blythyn denied any misconduct and claimed she was “deeply shocked and saddened” by her departure.
Welsh Conservative leader Andrew RT Davies claimed there was a “discrepancy” between the accounts.
