In what has been called the worst injustice in British legal history, the law will clear people found guilty in England and Wales due to errors in the Horizon accounting software.
According to the news, convictions will be automatically overturned under the law if they satisfy the following requirements:
The convictions included the following: • The Post Office or the Crown Prosecution Service prosecuted the cases; • The convictions were for relevant offenses like theft, fraud, and false accounting; • The prosecution focused on sub-postmasters, their staff, officers, family members, or direct Post Office employees who worked in a Post Office that used the Horizon system software.
