Stars like Pat Sajak, Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, and Clint Eastwood all served in the military, whether they were drafted or opted to enlist.
A few stars who have served are shown here.
When Elvis Presley was inducted into the Army in March 1958, he was already well-known as a musician. As an Armor Intelligence Specialist (MOS) 133.60, he served most of his military career overseas in Germany.
After being selected, Presley was quite worried about losing the notoriety he had worked so hard to get.
While in Germany, he remarked, “I have no way of knowing if my fame is fading.” “You are simply ignorant. I’m hoping my family back home hasn’t forgotten about me.”
Pat Sajak was originally sent overseas as a finance clerk, but he later served as a disc jockey in the Army during the Vietnam War.
“In June of 2014, Sajak wrote for the USO website, saying that she used to feel a little bad about her relatively “easy” duty.” However, I always felt a little better when I ran into guys who thanked us for giving them a taste of home when they came into town from the field. Considering everything that so many of them were going through on a daily basis, I always found it odd that they would be thanking me.
