For years, fans have had the opportunity to put their fictitious money where their mouth is thanks to management video games.

But this year, players may now manage female teams in EA FC and Football Manager, two of the biggest football games available.
In an interview with the developers of Matchday Champions, a brand-new mobile application, and both projects, BBC Newsbeat discussed getting more women into the lovely (video) game.
What’s causing the delay?
One of the most popular games ever made is EA FC, which also has a career option that lets you play .
Women are being introduced to the mode for the first time this year.
The game’s creator, Electronic Arts, obtained the rights to use the name of the football governing body when it released Fifa 16, and last year, it introduced support for female players to its Ultimate Team mode in EA FC.
The shift has been long overdue, according to fans, but line producer Andreas Wilsdorf, who is focused on his work, tells Newsbeat that a few things had to happen before it could happen.
“Using FIFA 16 would have been fantastic,” Andreas remarks.
