According to Walz, he was in Hong Kong in the spring of 1989 when the tragic Tiananmen Square demonstrations took place. However, according to reports from Minnesota Public Radio and other media, Walz did not really visit China until August of that year.
Margaret Brennan, moderator of News, questioned Walz about the disparity.
Recordings pertaining to Walz’s purported affiliation with the Chinese Communist Party were seized by the DHS.
