A lady who has not been identified has filed a civil action in Houston, Texas, against the 28-year-old on Monday, demanding $1 million (£764,000) in damages.
According to reports, the incident happened in October 2020 while the two were out on a date.
Watson, who participated in the team’s opening-round loss to the Dallas Cowboys last weekend, will take on the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday, according to Browns coach Kevin Stefanski.
Before the case was filed, Stefanski said he was not aware of the allegations and had not given Watson any thought.
Rusty Hardin, Watson’s lawyer, stated in a statement on Wednesday that his client “strongly denies the allegations” and that they were “comfortable he will ultimately be vindicated.”
Deshaun will devote all of his attention and efforts on football in the interim.
The NFL announced on Tuesday that it would be looking into the claims made against Watson. In August 2022, Watson was fined $5 million (£3.83 million) and suspended for 11 games without pay as a result of an inquiry into many allegations of sexual misconduct.
Two grand juries decided there was insufficient evidence to indict Watson after he refuted the allegations. In the summer of 2022, he later came to private agreements with 23 of the 24 women.
