Hours after US President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin agreed to a new deal to stop from attacking energy targets, Russia and Ukraine accused one another on Wednesday of breaking it.
However, a prisoner swap that was hailed as a step toward fostering confidence proceeded, and Trump said that “we are very much on track” after speaking with Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskiy on Wednesday in addition to Putin on Tuesday.
Zelenskiy and Trump had their first discussion since an Oval Office meeting that turned into a yelling battle on February 28. Trump claimed that his “very good telephone call” with Zelenskiy lasted an hour.
