Our reporter, Jess Sharp, interviews women who are making waves in their industries for an eight-part series for the News’ Money blog. Through their tales, challenges, and guidance for aspiring female leaders, we learn from these trailblazing women.
She had a conversation this week with Kelly McCabe, co-founder of Perci Health, the first virtual cancer care clinic in the UK.
Upon establishing their company, Kelly and her business partner Morgan Fitzsimons took an atypical step: they took a seat and scheduled the dates of their respective childbirths.
Though many males would never feel the need to bring it up with their business partners, as two women, they had to face the reality that it was something they needed to consider.
After a lengthy discussion, we decided that we would have kids at different times, with one of us staying in the company to enable the other to take the necessary time off, according to Kelly.
things’s impossible to arrange everything, of course, but we were lucky enough for things to go somewhat as planned.
