Wednesday is the warmest day of the year in Karachi.
According to the Meteorological Department, the temperature was recorded at 41.5 degrees Celsius today.
The hottest spot in Karachi turned out to be Gulshan-e-Johar, when the temperature reached 42.5 degrees Celsius.
Sindh was hit by a severe heat wave that extended beyond Karachi. The temperatures in Mohenjo Daro, Larkana, and Jacobabad reached and exceeded 50 degrees Celsius. Dadu recorded 49°, Sukkur recorded 48°, and Sahiwal recorded 46°.
Punjab also saw high temperatures; 45 degrees Celsius were recorded in Sargodha, Faisalabad, Multan, and Lahore.
With a felt heat index of 49 degrees, the temperatures in Hyderabad and Rahim Yar Khan both hit 46 degrees Celsius. Islamabad recorded 39 degrees Celsius, while Peshawar recorded 40.
