Karachi: Pakistan is among the most vulnerable countries to the severe effects of climate change, including extreme weather and environmental degradation, with less than 1% of its greenhouse gas emissions contributing to global warming, according to recent research.
The country’s air pollution level in 2022 was found to have decreased slightly from the previous years despite this already-existing element, according to the annual Air Quality Life Index (AQLI) report.
The report states that although South Asia’s total pollution level has dropped, the region is still among the most polluted in the world. Pakistan and other South Asian countries are still susceptible to air pollution because people will still be breathing in contaminated pollutants even if the air is cleaner in 2022.
