Exams were postponed as Pakistan came to a complete halt on Tuesday, the day Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif declared a national holiday in honor of Youm-e-Takbeer.
The holiday was declared by the premier to commemorate the historic day in 1998 when Pakistan carried out successful nuclear testing in the Chaghai hills.
Nonetheless, the provincial officials postponed the Tuesday matriculation exams in Karachi once more because of an unexpected public holiday.
All government offices, banks, the Pakistan Stock Exchange, courts, and educational institutions are also closed during the holidays.
Pakistan, which already has a shaky economy and is plagued by inflation, observes 120 off days annually, including public holidays, according to News.
