Despite Saturday night’s shooting at a Pennsylvania rally, when Trump was shot in the ear, the party conference in Milwaukee is proceeding as scheduled.
On social media, Trump said that he had thought about postponing his vacation by two days but that he “cannot allow a’shooter,’ or potential assassin, to force a change to scheduling or anything else.”
The event, which starts on Monday at the arena where the NBA Milwaukee Bucks basketball team plays, will place a greater emphasis on safety and security as a result of the attack on the candidate.
However, at a press conference on Sunday afternoon in Milwaukee, US Secret Service coordinator for the Republican National Convention Audrey Gibson-Cicchino stated that the security plan will not be altered.
The party is presenting its case to voters ahead of November’s general election, and about 50,000 people are anticipated to attend the four-day extravaganza of pageantry, politics, and policy.
