In 2024, a record number of skilled workers were transferred overseas for work by the Bureau of Emigration and Overseas Employment (BE&OE).
According to government figures, up to 727,381 skilled workers have been transported overseas in search of work. Most of them have worked in nations like Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, and Oman, and many of them have also worked in European nations.
The BE&OE credited its “aggressive” marketing tactics, enhanced facilitation, and fortified relationships with foreign employers for this success.
Increased remittances and a decrease in unemployment are anticipated benefits of the action for Pakistan’s economy.
