According to The Verge, WhatsApp, owned by Meta, has unveiled a new feature that attempts to make it easier for groups to plan both virtual and in-person events.
Members of a group can schedule meetings, parties, and other events using the new “Events” function, which works similarly to e-vite providers that send out email invitations.
Members may check who is coming to the event, who isn’t, and who is bringing refreshments by using this feature, which is linked to the group’s information page and has its own chat thread.
The Verge also mentioned that in order to allow users to leave comments and criticism, the messaging app now allows users to reply to “Announcement Groups”.
To make it easier for people to read, it also mutes the conversation and minimizes replies.
