WhatsApp, a platform owned by Meta, is introducing a feature that will enable users to mention group chats in status updates.
According to WABetaInfo, the new function, which is currently accessible to a select set of beta testers, was created to improve communication by enabling users to alert whole groups with a single mention.
This removes the need to tag each contact individually. When a group is referenced in a status update, a message is sent to all associated members alerting them to the mention.
This guarantees that group members can interact with the shared status update and are instantly notified.
It’s also crucial to remember that access will be temporarily extended to participants who are not listed in the current privacy settings for status updates.
