One of the most popular instant messaging apps in the world, WhatsApp, has formally moved its operations out of Pakistan in response to the recent internet outage.
According to official records, local users experienced significant service interruptions when WhatsApp relocated its Content Delivery Network (CDN) overseas.
There have been reported service interruptions.
The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) claims that customers are having trouble sustaining connections as a result of WhatsApp’s decision to move its session server route outside of Pakistan.
The difficulties brought on by the shift are making it difficult for many WhatsApp users to send and receive messages.
The PTA noted that internet services nationwide had improved in spite of the move. Pakistan is now ranked 139th in the world for fixed-line internet speed, despite the fact that fixed-line internet services have been increased by two tiers.
