The Passport Department’s printing capacity has doubled as a result of the installation of new, contemporary passport printers.
The passport issuance difficulties for international travelers have been resolved.
With the addition of 10 new printers, the Passport and Immigration Department’s production capacity has expanded from 20,000 to 40,000 passports per day, according to department officials.
Two printers have been purchased especially for producing e-passports, and seven more contemporary machines will shortly be arriving at the passport headquarters, according to DG Passports Mustafa Jamal Qazi.
He underlined that the department would be able to eliminate the backlog on a daily basis thanks to the installation of these contemporary printers, which will result in a major boost in printing capacity.
