Electric pole theft has begun in Karachi’s residential neighborhoods. Electric poles worth millions of rupees were reported stolen in a single night, which greatly alarmed the local population.
The community’s predicament worsened when unknown attackers took poles out of the Malir Housing Scheme. Numerous homeowners reported feeling frightened and alarmed after dozens of poles were stolen.
Residents expressed concern about the increasing frequency of theft in the neighborhood by pointing out that electric lines had also been stolen only a few days earlier.
Many think that these acts are committed by a well-organized group that is not being pursued.
