Several districts in Sindh have declared school holidays due to the forecast of intense monsoon showers and flooding. This is because the provincial education department has given deputy commissioners (DCs) more authority in this area.
The Sindh Education Department reported that the monsoon season was in progress in several districts and that the “same is expected to prevail for few more days” in a letter to all the district councils (DCs) in the state.
The letter stated that the deputy commissioners may declare local vacations in schools due to the severity of the heavy rains and the damages in the respective districts.
Therefore, on Thursday, all private and public educational institutions will be closed. This announcement was made by the deputy commissioners of Tando Allahyar, Badin, Mirpurkhas, Hyderabad, Nawabshah, Sajawal, Jamshoro, and Umarkot, who are all exercising the same powers.
