The Irish celebrity is undoubtedly alluding to dynamic ticket pricing, the contentious topic in the music industry that has dominated news, conversations on social media, and even political discourse this week in the wake of the catastrophic Oasis reunion sale.
Ciara Mary-Alice Thompson, also known as CMAT, is an Oasis enthusiast who intends to attend three concerts in 2019. However, she claims that she did not pay dynamic pricing and feels that the practice ought to be outlawed.
“Why are all of the venues in the UK closing? Why is the music industry as a whole in ruins, while some people profit from [higher] ticket prices?
Since I have opposed dynamic pricing for the past year, I would never, ever, ever allow it on my tickets, thus I wouldn’t be receiving that [money]. My supervisors wouldn’t.”
CMAT goes on: Where is all of this money going? Who is understanding it? since nobody is benefited by it.
She claims that because she is an independent artist, she has greater say and influence over price decisions; nonetheless, throughout the past year, the topic of dynamic pricing has occasionally “reared its ugly head” in discussions.
