Tragically, a porter from the Shigar region perished while assisting a foreign mountaineering team traveling to K2 base camp with their bags.
At 4500 meters, on the summit of Concordia Peak, Sher Muhammad, one of twelve hikers with Apricot Tours, had trouble breathing.
Sher Muhammad lost consciousness while carrying a 25 kilogram burden, along with the other twenty-six native porters. Sher Muhammad was having breathing difficulties.
Medical help was given by a foreign doctor at Concordia, and plans were made to transport him to Skardu on Sunday by helicopter. But on Saturday night, he unfortunately passed away.
