Since the long-awaited ceasefire agreement with Israel started on January 19, 2025, 13 captives held by Hamas in Gaza have been freed. A separate arrangement has also resulted in the release of five Thai nationals.
Israel claims that 76 of the 251 hostages are still missing 15 months after the strikes on October 7, 2023, even though it only thinks 42 of them are still alive.
Along with American-Israeli Keith Siegel, 65, two Israelis were freed on Saturday: Ofer Kalderon, 54, and Yarden Bibas, 34.
Since the truce was agreed upon, four hostage groups have been released.
