The founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Imran Khan, recently demanded an open trial for former intelligence chief Lt Gen (retd) Faiz Hameed, to which security sources reacted harshly.
Security circles have criticized the statement made by the former prime minister during an unofficial conversation with media in Adiala Jail.
Security sources responded by contesting Imran Khan’s jurisdiction to decide whether or not Lt Gen (retd) Faiz Hameed’s trial ought to be held in public. “Who is the founding chairman to tell whether there will be an open trial of Faiz Hameed or not?” stated the sources.
