Luigi Mangione was recognized at a McDonald’s in Altoona, Pennsylvania, and police stated on Monday that they had taken him into custody.
According to officials, the Baltimore, Maryland native was discovered in possession of a three-page handwritten document that revealed “motivation and mindset,” a pistol that was virtually untraceable, and a so-called ghost gun.

According to New York Chief of Detectives Joseph Kenny, Mr. Mangione was born and reared in Maryland and has connections to San Francisco, California.
According to authorities, he has never been arrested in New York before, and his most recent residence was in Honolulu, Hawaii.
According to school administrators, he went to the Gilman School, a private, all-boys high school in Baltimore, and comes from a well-known Baltimore family.
