KARACHI: With a lot of rain predicted, there have been rumors circulating on social media about Karachi schools closing, which has confused parents and children.
The chief meteorologist for the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), Sardar Sarfaraz, stated that more than 150 millimeters of rain were expected to hit the port city this week, but that the monsoon’s peak was still to come.
Speaking on the “Geo Pakistan” show on Geo News, Sarfaraz issued a warning that there would be significant rainfall in Karachi starting tomorrow and lasting for the following three to four days.
“The monsoon system is expected to grow stronger after August 28 as Karachi may receive as much as 150-200 millimeters rain,” he stated.
