There is little likelihood of a heatwave in the city for the next week, Chief Meteorologist Sardar Sarfaraz stated on Monday, following the postponement of the matriculation exams in Karachi due to a heatwave alarm.
He told a local TV station, “There’s no need to worry about a heatwave; there’s a sea breeze blowing in the city.”
He stated that the next ten days will see intense heat, with temperatures predicted to range from 36 to 38 degrees Celsius.
According to the top meteorologist, there will be a range of humidity levels during the hot weather.
In response to a heatwave alert issued by the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), the Board of Secondary Education Karachi (BSEK) postponed the ninth and matric exams that were supposed to take place from May 21–27 earlier today.
