Williams, the top choice in this year’s draft, traveled across the Atlantic for the second London game of the season. This is only his sixth appearance in what looks to be a spectacular NFL career.
At Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, 61,182 people gathered to watch Williams face Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence, the first overall pick in the 2021 draft.
With four touchdown throws, the 22-year-old Williams emerged victorious, helping the Bears win for the third consecutive game and raise their record to 4-2.
Williams completed two touchdown passes to tight end Cole Kmet to put the Bears ahead 14-3 at the half after he had already thrown five in his first five games.
He then tossed two more to Keenan Allen on Chicago’s first two drives of the second half.
The Jaguars fell to 1-5 for the season, and although Lawrence, 25, responded with two touchdown throws to Gabe Davis, they never appeared to be able to rally.
However, Williams had some great numbers at the end of the day. In addition to 226 passing yards and 56 rushing yards from just four carries, he completed 23 of his 29 passes for a 79.3% completion rate.
