LAHORE: In compliance with the Right to Access to Information Act of 2017, the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) was ordered by the Pakistan Information Commission (PIC) on Saturday to make available, within ten days, a list of its workers who are dual nationals or married to foreign nationals, according to The News.
The PIC directed the governor of the central bank to furnish these and other sought material in the Azmat Khan v. SBP case.
Information Commissioner Ijaz Hassan Awan and Chief Information Commissioner Shoaib Ahmad Siddiqui pointed out that petitioner Azmat Khan requested information on SBP officers, staff, and those connected to regional or global NGOs, community development organizations, or non-profits.
Additionally, the petitioner requested information about the actions taken by SBP against employees who were married to citizens and held dual citizenship.
