Following the death of a well-known female journalist in Pakpattan, the Women’s Media Forum Pakistan (WMFP) voiced worries over the rise in crimes committed against women journalists in Pakistan.
It has now been established that the woman whose body was found by the authorities on March 11 in Lehri National Park, Pakpattan, 203 kilometers from the provincial capital Lahore, Punjab, is the unidentified body of print journalist Nosheen Rana.
Nosheen was discovered 400 kilometers from her Pakpattan home in the Sohawa area of Jhelum in northern Punjab, according to the media. Her face was burned with acid after being stabbed several times in the face and stomach.
The authorities are still investigating the murder because it is unclear why it was committed.
