Hassan Khan, a junior doctor, delivered a healthy baby girl when a fellow passenger went into labour while flying from Jordan to London over the weekend.
The 28-year-old was flying with a group of friends, all of whom happened to be doctors, when an announcement was made requesting medical assistance.
Dr. Khan told news that when the flight crew requested a doctor on board, all of his friends offered to volunteer.
“Out of all of the flights that this could have possibly happened on, I would say this was a relatively good one given the number of medical staff available,” he told the News at the time.
The committee agreed Dr. Khan was the ideal person to handle the situation, but it was not easy for the medic from Basildon Hospital in Essex.
