After learning that a “fake wedding” she had taken part in was actually a legitimate marriage, an Australian woman recently filed for annulment.
Her husband informed her the ceremony was only a social media gimmick to increase his Instagram following, and the woman, whose identity is kept secret, said she was duped.
In September 2023, the woman met her partner on a dating app, which is how the incident started. They began seeing together on a regular basis, and by December, he asked her to wear a white dress to a “white party” in Sydney. She was surprised to see that her partner, a photographer, the photographer’s friend, and a marriage officiant were the only people present.
