After nearly nine months of outage in Pakistan, X, the former Twitter, was back up on Tuesday. Since February 17, access to platforms owned by tech billionaires has been hampered in several parts of the nation.
The incident occurred as supporters of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf arrived at D-Chowk in Islamabad to demand the release of former Prime Minister Imran Khan.
Hundreds of demonstrators marched to the federal capital, accompanied by Khan’s wife Bushra Bibi and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur’s main motorcade, according to live footage.
While many employees of Aaj News encountered difficulties using the social media platform’s browser version, they were able to access it on their smartphones.
A week later, social media site X, formerly known as Twitter, experienced service disruptions.
