A group of Balochistani students who had been in China for a specialized technical education program have returned to Pakistan. The Government of Pakistan, along with Chinese institutions, supported the program as part of a larger attempt to improve educational possibilities in the province.
Under the program, which had as its focal point “Road and Bridge Construction (Civil Technology),” students were first trained for two years at the Gwadar Institute of Technology (GIT). The diploma’s last year was finished in China, giving students exposure to and knowledge of other countries.
The kids were part of a scholarship program that aimed to identify and improve technical abilities among the youth of the province. They were chosen from distant parts of Balochistan based on their merit.
