ISLAMABAD: On Wednesday, President Asif Ali Zardari and President Xi Jinping of China met at Beijing’s Great Hall of the People.
The two leaders talked about bolstering bilateral relations, expediting projects under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), and implementing security measures for Chinese citizens in Pakistan.
Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, and other representatives of Pakistan’s delegation attended the high-level meeting.
President Zardari also met with Zhao Leji, the chairman of the National People’s Congress Standing Committee, where they emphasized the decades-old and strong friendship between China and Pakistan.
The two parties also talked about the excellent progress of CPEC 2.0, with a focus on fostering collaboration in the fields of science and technology, renewable energy, infrastructure, and agriculture.
