Travis Kelce gained notoriety for the wrong reasons prior to the Kansas City Chiefs winning the Super Bowl for the second time in a row.
The star tight end, who was already the center of attention due to Taylor Swift’s appearance at the Super Bowl, became the talk of the town when he screamed in Andy Reid’s face, his head coach.
While Kelce was off the field, the event happened soon after an Isiah Pacheco blunder in the first half. Prior to Jerick McKinnon having to pull him away, Kelce appeared to grab Reid’s arm and bump him while running over to give him a hard time.
Following the incident, Reid and Kelce both played it down. Kelce acknowledged he was mic’d up, so that might “[tell] the world” what he actually said, but he ended it there, saying, “I was just telling him how much I love him.”
Evidently difficult to accept, Reid stated that he “love[d]” Kelce’s passion and that “the guy wants to play and wants to be in there playing.”
Perhaps that was just coach talk, and Reid was too busy enjoying another Super Bowl victory to give it any more thought. However, given that even the greatest of all time concurs, it may well be the case.
Throughout his 23 illustrious years in the NFL and seven Super Bowls, Tom Brady expressed a good deal of emotion on the field.
