RAWALPINDI: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on Tuesday called for a nationwide demonstration on March 2 against suspected cheating in the 2024 general elections, claiming that other political parties will join them.
In a press conference following a meeting with PTI founder Imran Khan, Secretary General Omar Ayub, who is also the party’s candidate for prime minister, bemoaned “large-scale” election rigging.
He stated that the PTI, together with other political parties, would hold nationwide rallies against the “rigging” of elections.
“Our seats were snatched with the stroke of a pen. The voters elected the former PTI chairman. “The nation’s mandate and our seats have been attacked,” Ayub stated.
He stated that the successful PTI-backed candidate possessed Form 45s. Ayub added party leaders met the PTI founder, who is incarcerated at the prison, and he is “confident” of the party’s stance.
He said that the party would protest in courts and assemblies. “Ours is the fight of truth,” he added.
