On Monday, Islamabad United defeated Multan Sultans by two wickets at the National Bank Stadium in Karachi to win the Pakistan Super League (PSL) season 9 title.
Islamabad, headed by Shadab Khan, won their third PSL title, adding to titles won in 2016 and 2018, making them the event’s most successful team in history.
The Multan Sultans, led by Muhammad Rizwan, have now lost three straight PSL finals. Multan lost to Lahore Qalanders in the 2022 and 2023 finals.
On the penultimate ball of their innings, Islamabad United chased down the 160-run mark.
