ISLAMABAD At the invitation of President Xi Jinping and Premier Li Qiang, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is scheduled to leave for an official five-day visit to China from June 4–8, the Foreign Office announced on Friday.
The FO stated in a statement that the prime minister will meet with President Xi and speak with Premier Li at the delegation level while in Beijing.
Along with chiefs of important government ministries, he will also meet with Zhao Leji, the chairman of the National People’s Congress Standing Committee.
The FO official continued, “PM Shehbaz will visit the economic and agricultural zones and will also address the Pakistan China Business Forum.”
Meetings between PM Shehbaz and top Chinese company executives will form a significant part of his tour.
It further stated that the PM will also speak at the China-Pakistan Business Forum in Shenzhen, which brings together influential investors, businesspeople, and entrepreneurs from both nations. He will also travel to China’s Agricultural and Economic Zones.
The premier’s visit is an example of the unwavering friendship between China and Pakistan, which is marked by regular high-level discussions and exchanges.
The future course of friendship between Pakistan and China will be determined by the two countries’ discussions on bolstering the All-Weather Strategic Cooperative Partnership, modernizing the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor, advancing trade and investment, enhancing cooperation in security and defense, energy, space, science and technology, and education, and fostering cultural cooperation and people-to-people contacts.
