Asad Qaiser, the leader of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), said that during the Central Apex Committee on National Action Plan (NAP) meeting, Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa did not bring up any topic related to the new military operation, Azm-e-Istehkam, which is intended to eradicate militancy.
In the critical meeting, which was presided over by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and included senior officials from the military, law enforcement, and all provinces as well as Gilgit Baltistan, chief secretaries, chief ministers, and chief executives of KP, Gandapur represented the northwest province of the nation.
Qaiser claimed to have spoken with the chief minister, who denied discussing any such topic there.
“Wherever there are problems, these conversations happen on a regular basis, and solutions are also determined.” However, he [Gandapur] showed ignorance of a full-fledged operation,” the prominent lawmaker disclosed in an interview that aired on Sunday on the News program “Naya Pakistan.”
The administration made an announcement on Saturday about a new counterterrorism campaign, promising to use all available tools—military, diplomatic, and legislative—to intensify pressure on extremists.
The operation was approved by the Central Apex Committee on NAP in the wake of a notable upsurge in terrorist assaults in recent months that have claimed numerous lives, including civilians and members of security personnel.
