On Tuesday, the Islamabad High Court (IHC) dismissed a complaint brought against Sheikh Rashid, the leader of the Awami Muslim League (AML), for allegedly using “immoral” language against Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, the chairman of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP).
Rashid was charged with using derogatory language against the former foreign minister in February of last year. A local PPP representative filed a complaint, leading Karachi’s Mochko police station to file a formal complaint.
The first information report claimed that the former federal minister had said “immoral” and “nasty” things that had enraged the populace and put the city in a state of law and order.
The ruling was made public by IHC Justice Tariq Mehmood Jahangiri, who upheld Sheikh Rashid, the leader of the Awami Muslim League (AML), in his request that the Mochko Police case be dismissed.
