ISLAMABAD According to The News, veteran Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Asad Qaiser shockingly claimed on Sunday that party MPs were under pressure and being offered large sums of money to buy their allegiance.
Following the announcement of the Supreme Court’s decision about the reserved seats for women and minorities, PTI Chairman Gohar Khan further charged that the government was pressuring PTI MPs to switch their allegiance.
The PTI, which was disqualified from the polls on February 8 due to the electoral body’s December 2023 verdict, was able to reenter the house after the Supreme Court decided on July 12 that it was eligible to get reserved seats.Because the ruling would alter the makeup of the National Assembly, the pressure on the coalition partnership has also grown.
According to Asad Qaiser, the rulers were not ashamed because they had used other strategies, such as pressuring the parliamentarians, to stay in power.
He declared nationwide protests on Friday in a video message. “At the moment, the game of fire and blood is being played in the country and they are cracking down on a political party.”
According to Qaiser, the PTI would ask the Grand Democratic Alliance (GDA) and all other political parties to participate in this demonstration.
