LAHORE: Vice Emir Pir Zaheerul Hasan Shah of Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP), who had fled to Okara, has been taken into custody after being charged with inciting violence against Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Qazi Faez Isa, officials said Geo News on Monday.

Shah was arrested after a complaint was filed against him for remarks he made at a demonstration against the Supreme Court’s ruling in the Mubarak Sani case, which took place outside the Lahore Press Club.

On behalf of Station House Officer (SHO) Hammad Hussain, a complaint was filed at the Qila Gujjar Sing police station in Lahore against the TLP leader and 1,500 party employees for threatening to kill the chief justice.

The Anti-Terrorism Act (ATA) and its provisions, as well as those pertaining to inciting religious hate and chaos, pressuring and threatening the upper court, interfering with state affairs, hindering the execution of legal obligations, and other offenses, are all included in the First Information Report (FIR).

It is noteworthy that in addition to TLP, the following organizations have expressed their disagreement with the ruling of the supreme court in the aforementioned case: Wafaqul Madaris-ul-Arabiya (WMA), Mili Yakjehti Council Pakistan (MYC), and Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Sami (JUI-S).

Despite the top court’s explanation on Friday, which stated that the court’s ruling plainly implies that no one can be a Muslim without having trust in the finality of Prophet Muhammad’s (PBUH) prophethood, opposition still persists.
