ISLAMABAD: The federal government’s spokesperson on legal issues, Barrister Aqeel Malik, revealed that the Center had contacted Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur to cancel the public gathering, after divisions within the PTI arose over the sudden delay of the August 22 rally.
On September 8, the public gathering organized by the previous ruling party in Islamabad was rescheduled after the local government revoked the no-objection certificate (NOC) and barricaded the routes leading to the federal capital.
PTI leaders Gohar Ali Khan and Azam Swati asserted that party founder Imran Khan ordered the meeting to be rescheduled after they visited the imprisoned politician at Adiala Jail at 7:00 a.m. in advance of the highly anticipated public demonstration.Aleema expressed her lack of trust in the PTI’s present leadership, stating that there is no “real intention” on the part of the party to release the former prime minister from prison.
She also questioned who gave Swati the order to meet Imran early in the morning in a little audio recording.
