Only one Pakistani cricket player was selected for the Big Bash League (BBL) and Women’s Big Bash League (WBBL) after the drafts were completed.
69 men and 11 women cricketers are available for the teams, however only leg-spinner Usama Mir from Pakistan has been picked for the BBL.
In the third round of the BBL draft, Usama was selected by the Melbourne Stars. The cricket player participated in the 2023–24 league season as a member of the franchise.
The BBL, which is scheduled to begin on December 15, 2024, and run through January 27, 2025, gave preference to international players who could play the entire season without experiencing any problems with No Objection Certificates (NOCs).
