It is predicted that the weather system, which intensified on Sunday from a tropical storm to a hurricane, will landfall in the United States on Wednesday.
It is expected that the hurricane, which is presently moving east over the Gulf of Mexico, would first affect the Tampa Bay region and then pass over Orlando.
It happens after Hurricane Helene devastated much of the Southeast United States, including areas of Florida, late last month, killing over 200 people.
According to forecasters, some impacted communities are probably going to experience more damage than what was already done less than two weeks ago.
Director of Florida’s disaster management division Kevin Guthrie advised citizens to get ready for it.
Prior to Hurricane Irma in 2017, which killed over 130 people in the state of Florida, around seven million people were told to evacuate their homes.
Because of the mass evacuation, there were long lineups at gas stations and heavy traffic on the highways.
Authorities claim they’ve learned from the chaotic events in 2017 and will provide electric vehicle charging stations and emergency gasoline stations along evacuation routes.
