Zhao triumphs in his first competition after being banned.

In Stockholm, Sweden, the 27-year-old defeated Craig Steadman of England 4-3 in the WPBSA Q Tour final.

Zhao achieved the first maximum 147 break on the amateur circuit on Saturday. The amateur circuit was established in 2021 and provides two qualification spots for the professional World Snooker Tour.

Among the ten players barred due to the corruption allegations was Zhao. Although he did not actually throw a match, his suspension was lowered from two and a half years to one year and eight months as a result of his early admissions and guilty plea.

He acknowledged that he was complicit in the manipulation of two games and the betting of another participant.

The 2021 UK Championship winner lost at the last-64 stage of a Q Tour tournament on his comeback in Bulgaria last month.

He played eight matches over three days in Sweden, scoring eight hundreds, including the historic 147.

He stated, “I just wanted to get back to playing competitively; I wasn’t aiming to be the champion.”

Zhao is currently ranked second in the Q Tour standings, behind Andres Petrov of Estonia, having competed in three of the seven tournaments.

The player who finishes highest in the rankings will receive a card to the World Snooker Tour, while the following 16 players will compete in a play-off.
