ISLAMABAD In anticipation of the highly anticipated Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Council of Heads of Government meeting next week, a three-day public holiday has been declared in Islamabad and Rawalpindi.
In order to ensure the seamless execution of the 23rd SCO CHG, public holidays will be recognized in the twin cities on October 14, 15, and 16, according to a Cabinet Division statement released on Monday.
The SCO Council of Heads of Government will convene in Islamabad on October 15 and 16, and prominent international figures are expected to be present.
The upcoming event is quite important since it would be the first visit to Pakistan by an Indian foreign minister in almost ten years, Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, the Minister of External Affairs of India.
